Apple - King Russett
Colour pencil on paper. Part of a set of 16 drawings of apples from Wisley RHS orchard. This is a small and very lightly russetted apple, the pale brown 'scabbing' showing only around the lenticels on the skin and right on the base of the fruit, so that you'd hardly notice it. However, instead of the waxy shine of most apples King Russet has a matt surface that allows the delicate yellow uniform colour to be seen more than on a shinier apple.
