- Further Information
After qualifying in Scientific and Natural History Illustration from Blackpool College, Cheryl worked for several years as a successful freelance Illustrator, producing illustrations for use in Publishing and Advertising. Clients included, Country Living Magazine, Tesco and Sainsbury, Marshall Cavendish, Ward Lock and Times Books.
She now works from home where she has spent recent years developing her style and exploring further the technical aspects of watercolour painting; combining her painting with her work as a part time tutor in Adult Education.
She is inspired by the colour, structure and form of botanical and natural history subjects. Her aim is to represent and respond to what she sees in contemporary and elegantly simple watercolour images.
Her work was accepted for exhibition with the RHS last summer and she is currently creating a collection of paintings depicting ‘Amaryllis’ which she hopes to be exhibiting with them sometime during 2009/2010. Earlier this year she was awarded the St. Cuthbert’s Mill Award for an outstanding watercolour at The Society of Botanical Artists Exhibition in London.
